Construction Industry Council (CIC) Website Design & CMS Development
To drive for unity and excellence of the construction industry of Hong Kong.
Construction Industry Council, CIC, has its main functions to forge consensus on long-term strategic issues, convey the industry’s needs and aspirations to Government, as well as provide a communication channel for Government to solicit advice on all construction-related matters.
With large amount of web content and different chopped pieces, we had conducted content audit and considered the information architecture (IA) of the existing website. We then reorganized the categorization and recommended for a better navigation flow. Our team proposed to apply a clean and simple interface with clear short cuts button and multi-content allocation approach, to arouse browsers’ immediate interest and for their easy understanding and straight forward navigation.
CIC has a wide range of target audiences, from general public to industry professionals and government officials. To provide a sustainable and systematic web content and easy-understanding user interface obviously help facilitating various audiences’ needs. Based on the content audit result and information architecture estimation, our team created a new and fresh look and feel, enhanced web-accessibility performance and user-experience (UX) in order to improve the corporate image of CIC at the same time. The website was as well created with a responsive web design (RWD) to cater both desktop and mobile users and adhered to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (W3C WCAG) 2.0 Level AA standards.
For better content maintenance, we implemented a semi-tailor made, user-friendly and concise Content Management System (CMS) solution to best fit CIC. Our semi-tailored CMS solution allows a high number of departmental editors to have exact high level of control and flexibility in editing content, generating sections or making changes of the sitemap. To facilitate the editing work, our CMS includes functionality for multi-user roles, content approval stages, full-site preview and web accessibility review prior to the release of content.
